With the power delivery being so high in the RPM range, driving the YXZ to its full potential is difficult, and the average driver isn’t used to operating a UTV as though it were a 2 stroke 125 with an aggressive power-band. The Tubeworks WR kit increases the car’s driveability exponentially by bringing down the power so it can be used more easily and ensure that the car is much more user friendly. This means that instead of having to keep the car above 7,000RPM to harness its power, the car can now be short shifted much sooner, but still have the torque to really feel the acceleration and power. The gear reduction also lets people run 30's or 31's without sacrificing the same pull and feel as stock tires.

(15% Drop Set - $550) - ​This 15% reduction kit eliminates the sluggishness caused by an oversized tire on the YXZ. It requires NO modification to the case half.



(1st Gear - $500, Gear set & Input gears) - The 1st gear reduction is in 1st gear only, which adds an additional 35% reduction. This will increase the speed at which you accelerate from stop position. NOT recommended for technical driving. Transmission case machining WILL be required.

(IRP Pressure Plate - $499) - Our IRP (Initial Response Plate) works in conjunction with the electronic controlled clutch actuator to provide a smooth and steady start or stop from take off. This will enables you to leave your foot on the gas when climbing something steep and have your vehicle stay still, just like a normal car or CVT style UTV (like a RZR). This greatly improves the driveability of the YXZ, and when combined with our WR Trail kit makes the YXZ the ultimate vehicle for trails or high speed running. You can drive at 1 mph and not be damaging the clutch. Includes 1 new clutch plate and new standard thickness steels.

All gear reduction systems work on 2016 standard shift and 2017 SS (Sport Shift Models).The SS machines require an additional computing system called the “GSC” (Gear Shift Controller), which costs $350. It will need to be programmed according to your gear choice and tire size.


(Full Trail Edition WR Kit - $2000) - In stock form the Full Trail WR Kit is geared extremely high, and when paired with an industry standard tire size it causes sluggishness and hinders the YXZ’s ability to climb. With our combinations we have provided the Yamaha with a true WR (Wide Ratio) Transmission. The optimal WR combo is our 70/30/30/30/15% gear kit with a 31’ tire. Pricing on the full kit includes labor for gear installation, case half machining, clutch mod, as well as the external oiling system. Does not include shipping.

(Full Desert Edition/Turbo WR Kit - $2000) - The YXZ seems to have been developed for West Coast terrain; equipped with larger tires to conquer the desert, dunes, and long open stretches. Although stock gearing works decently in these scenarios, the larger tires strain the Yamaha’s drive-train components. This new 15% reduction kit helps return more of that lost power while still retaining the speed every driver craves. When combined with the 1st gear option this kit produces a 45/15 reduction, and when combined with our Over-Drive 5th provides a 45/15/15/15/1% ratio. This ratio is FOR TURBO CARS ONLY. We recommend the 45/15 with no overdrive for all naturally aspirated vehicles. The full kit includes labor for gear install, machining the case half, the clutch mod and external oiling system. (5th gear - $550, Single Gear Set Only) - Our new over-drive 5th gear option which will return 15% of your gearing back to you. There is NO case modification required and can be installed by your local technician. The addition of 5th gear will allow for a higher top speed as well as a lower running RPM when traveling on long stretches of road; sure to satisfy those looking to maximize performance.

WET CLUTCH UPGRADE

(Clutch Drum Mod - $250) - This clutch drum mod increases the oil capability of the stock clutch basket by using redirected oiling paths to cool and lube the more friction prone areas. It provides the clutch the capacity to be super heated; hot enough to billow out smoke, but keep a firm and full pedal. The footage we have of our YXZ in the rocks is using the STOCK clutch plates and discs! They can handle the abuse, but we also offer and recommend the Barnett Clutch Plates and discs. This clutch mod can work in conjunction with any aftermarket clutch system, such as the Rekluse clutch.

(Shipping Process) - Once your deposit has been processed we will ship you a box outfitted with dense foam packing so you can ship us your complete transmission. Once it arrives, it takes about 4-5 days to split the cases, modify the porting, and modify the clutch and install the gears.
